Blue Indigo Yoga retreat center
Bun Choul Chhnam Khmer (Khmer new year) is one of the most important traditional event and festival in Cambodia. We have the pleasure and honor to have monks and devotees from our nearby Pagoda (Preah Ang Chek Preah Ang Chorm ព្រះអង្គចេក ព្រះអង្គចម) come and bless us, our friends and our yoga cottage. This event ensures peace and health for the upcoming year, the year of the rooster.
Siem Reap will be vibrant with Khmer coming from all over to celebrate together around town and in the Angkor park, near temples. A very fun place to be for dancing and spraying water on each other!
There are 3 main days and each of them has a specific meaning and set of rituals
14th April - Moha Sangkran: this is the inauguration of the new angel who comes to take care of the earth.
15th April- Wanabot: the day when people offer presents to elder relatives.
16th April- Leung Sak: Kemera Devi (one daughter of Kabel Moha Prom) is the angel greeted to come take care of the universe.
Little glossary of how to greet people in these auspicious times

Good luck -> somnang loo’or
We wish you all a soo s’day chnam tmey and somnang loo’or!
